Novice Tri-Swim
               
NOVICE TRI - SWIM : This class is suitable for novice triathletes or those who wish to train for triathlons but lack open water swim experience or confidence.

CLASS OBJECTIVE

To build swimmers' efficiency, open water confidence and to race effectively in the sea. This is achieved through monthly open water swim training sessions and different training methods in the pool.

Swimmers will focus on key drills, stroke technique and swim fitness. Most importantly, swimmers will be trained to race effectively in the sea by understanding external factors that come into play in open water. Underwater cameras will be used at the beginning of the class to observe swimmers' stroke efficiency.


MONDAY INTAKE 2008
Time: 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm
Location: Katong (Mountbatten) Swimming Pool
Duration: 25 sessions (including 4 sea swim sessions), 2 hours per session
Class Programme: 30% stroke correction/drills, 70% training


THURSDAY INTAKE 2008
Time: 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm
Location: Buona Vista Swimming Pool
Duration: 25 sessions (including 4 sea swim sessions), 2 hours per session
Class Programme: 20% stroke correction/drills, 80% training


FRIDAY INTAKE 2008
Time: 6:45 pm to 8:45 pm
Location: Buona Vista Swimming Pool
Duration: 25 sessions (including 4 sea swim sessions), 2 hours per session
Class Programme: 40% stroke correction/drills, 60% training


SEA-SWIM TRAINING
There will be one sea-swim training per month from August - December 2008
