TRI - SWIM : Suitable for seasoned triathletes and swimmers with high endurance and the ability to swim 10 laps of front crawl non-stop
CLASS OBJECTIVE
Swimming being the first leg of a triathlon race, all triathletes need to able to swim efficiently, effectively and feel strong towards T1.
You will be exposed to different methods of training and using paddles to enhance your upper body strength. Swimmers will be categorized into different group based on their swimming level. There are Sharks, being the fastest, Barracudas, Flying Fish, Swordfish and Bluefish.
Swimmers are expected to swim in 3 strokes, front-crawl, breaststroke and butterfly.
This class provides you with an ideal environment with GROUP DYNAMICS to motivate you to swim. It is recommended for those planning to participate in long distance swim events such as opea sea swims, IRONMAN races and Masters Swim competitions. It is also suitable for those who would like to swim for fitness.
Please note that this is a TRAINING class with high mileage, endurance and intensity with minimal coaching.
Aim is to build swimmers' open water confidence and to race effectively in the sea. This is achieved by understanding external factors during sea swim training and through different training methods in the pool.
TUESDAY INTAKE 2008
Time: 7pm to 9pm (2 hours)
Location: Farrer Park Aquatic Centre, Rutland Road (opposite KK Hospital)
Class size: 30 swimmers
Duration: 25 sessions (including 4 sea-swim sessions), 2 hours per session
Class Programme: 100% training
SEA-SWIM TRAINING
There will be one sea swim session per month from August - December 2008
